Description
The MI129, a new addition to the METTLER TOLEDO portfolio, offers pH
measurement with a new solid state ISFET electrode bringing unparalleled
robustness to field measurement.
The meter has been developed for routine applications demanding accuracy and
good practice. The ISFET electrode consists of an plastic bodied probe
containing a gel-filled reference, temperature sensor and silicon ISFET
microchip. This microchip replaces the fragile glass bulb on traditional
combination electrodes and gives complete security when working with samples
where glass breakage is undesirable.

Features and Benefits
The ISFET probe is particularly robust, giving longer life where rough or
careless handling is common and facilitates cleaning making ideal for
applications with viscous samples which are difficult to remove e.g.
foodstuffs.
Unlike glass sensors the use of an ISFET probe does not require great care
or awkward maintenance. Delivering a stable reading faster than a glass
sensor, the ISFET probe is useful for applications where rapid testing or
minimum exposure time is necessary. In addition to speed of response the
ISFET is capable of accurate measurement of single drop samples, useful in
applications where sample contamination or limited sample availability are
important e.g. biomedical applications.
